vivo Philippines has officially started teasing the V30 series, the successor to last year’s V29 lineup. The mid-ranger smartphones now have a dedicated page on the company’s website, listing the series as “coming soon” and it is expected to be made up of at least two devices, namely the regular V30 as well as the Pro model.
While the exact launch date has yet to be revealed, we know that it is very likely that the lineup will be making its way to Malaysia in the near future as the vanilla variant has already received SIRIM certification. Listed with the model number V2318, the V30 gained approval a month ago on 29 December 2023.
Nothing about the phones have been officially confirmed by the company, but it is speculated that the series will be rebranded or modified versions of the S18 series released in China. If true, then we can expect the V30 to sport a 6.78-inch 1080p AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 2,800 nits.
It might also run on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset with a 5,000mAh battery and 80W charging, while the Pro variant could be getting the MediaTek Dimensity 8200+ SoC. For the cameras, the V30 is speculated to feature a 50MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a 50MP front shooter.
