The new OnePlus 12 has officially launched for the global market, and is confirmed coming to Malaysia next month. The phone is equipped with Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon flagship chip, 4th generation Hasselblad cameras, and a host of other features and improvements.
Specifications of the phone are the same as its initial debut in China last month, though OnePlus Malaysia confirms that only one memory configuration will be available locally. To recap, the OnePlus 12 sports a 6.8-inch LTPO AMOLED display with 3168 x 1440 pixel 120Hz refresh rate, and peak brightness of 4,500 nits. It also features Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection, an under-display fingerprint scanner, Dolby Atmos tuned speakers, and a water/dust resistance rating of IP65. The alert slider also makes a return, but is shifted on the left-hand side in order to accommodate a new integrated antenna.
Under the hood, the new OnePlus flagship is fitted with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 flagship chipset with 5G support. For the Malaysian market, its memory configuration will consist of 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage. Meanwhile, powering the phone is a massive 5,400mAh Li-Po battery with support for 100W fast-charging via USB-C 3.2 Gen1, 50W wireless charging, and 10W reverse wireless charging.
Imaging-wise, the 4th generation Hasselblad Camera for Mobile arrangement on its back comprises an LYT808 50MP primary shooter, an OV64B 64MP periscope telephoto with 3x optical zoom, and an IMX581 48MP ultrawide. Found on its display, housed within the punch-hole cutout is a IMX615 32MP selfie camera.
The OnePlus 12 is slated to arrive in Malaysia on 3 February 2024, priced at RM4,599. It is only offered in two colourways for the local market, namely the Flowy Emerald and Silky Black options. The white version, unfortunately, will remain as a China-only exclusive.
