OnePlus has just launched its new 2024 flagship lineup made up of the OnePlus 12 as well as the OnePlus 12R. The latter is the more affordable variant of the two, being equipped with stripped-down specs using last-gen internals while still offering an impressive screen.
The OnePlus 12R sports a 6.78-inch ProXDR LTPO AMOLED display with a 120Hz dynamic refresh rate, Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2, and a whopping peak brightness of 4,500 nits. Inside the chassis is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset paired with 16GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage.
For photography, the phone features a 50MP Sony IMX890 primary sensor with OIS, an 8MP ultra-wide, and a 2MP macro lens, while the front cutout houses a 16MP selfie snapper. Powering everything is a hefty 5,500mAh battery with support for 100W wired charging — unfortunately, there’s no wireless charging unlike the standard model. Of course, it wouldn’t be a OnePlus phone without the iconic alert slider.
The OnePlus 12R is priced at RM3,199 and is being offered in blue and black colour options. For now, there is no date of availability yet as the brand has only listed the phone as “coming soon”, while its higher-end sibling will start shipping out on 3 February.
