Maxis has announced a whole lineup of new postpaid and prepaid plans for Hotlink, all coming with 5G internet included. The new offerings also see the telco shelving one of its previous prepaid passes that actually offered more value, which we’ll talk about below.
First off, the Hotlink Postpaid 70 and Postpaid 60 plans have gotten upgraded quotas. The Postpaid 70 plan now offers 70GB of 4G+5G and 70GB of 5G (total of 140GB) along with free roaming in Singapore, Indonesia, and Thailand. On the other hand, the Postpaid 60 plan comes with 50GB of 45+5G and 50GB of 5G, totalling 100GB.
The Postpaid 45 is a new offering that comes with 30GB of 4G+5G and 30GB of 5G with a total data allocation of 60GB, which costs RM45/month with a RM10 monthly rebate for the first six months. This effectively replaces the previous Postpaid 40 plan and the RM45 prepaid Pantas pass, which are no longer being offered on its website. Overall, this new postpaid plan could be argued as a downgrade for consumers as the RM45 prepaid pass offered 50GB of 4G+5G and 25GB of 5G, totalling 75GB.
For prepaid users, Maxis introduced three new Hotlink “unlimited” passes, including two monthly passes, that offer unlimited speeds from 8 PM to 8 AM and limited speeds for the rest of the day. The first monthly pass costs RM40 for a speed of 6Mbps whereas the 12Mbps pass costs RM50. While they are labeled as “unlimited”, both passes actually come with a 100GB FUP data limit.
As for its Hotlink prepaid passes with uncapped speed, all these passes now come with 5G and two of its cheapest monthly passes have gotten increased data quotas. The RM35 pass now comes with a total of 60GB of data, up from 40GB, while the RM25 pass went from 20GB to a total of 40GB.
