realme has officially announced the launch date of the upcoming realme 12 Pro series, which will be taking place on 29 January 2024. Oddly enough, the company has since taken down the post from its global X page, so it’s unclear if the date still stands or that there will be a change for the launch.
The realme 12 Pro Plus was spotted on the SIRIM database a few weeks ago, with the phone being listed on 27 December 2023. Meanwhile, another device dubbed the realme 12 Plus also made its way to SIRIM on 12 January 2024.
It’s uncertain whether the entire lineup will be launching at the same time, as the now-deleted announcement specifically mentions the “realme 12 Pro series”, so it’s possible that the non-Pro models could be unveiled at a later date. The only specs confirmed by the brand so far are that the Pro series will be equipped with a Sony IMX890 camera with OIS as well as a telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom and 120x digital zoom.
According to leaks from earlier this month, both the Pro and Pro Plus will sport a 6.7-inch 1080p AMOLED display. They will run on different chipsets with the Pro Plus speculated to feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 SoC. The company has also confirmed a partnership with Rolex for the phone’s design.
