Alongside the X6 series, POCO has also launched an all-new 4G version of its M6 Pro mid-ranger in Malaysia. It is worth noting that the phone’s 5G model, which debuted in India last August, never made it to the local market and it is uncertain whether the brand will eventually introduce it in the near future.
That aside, the new POCO M6 Pro 4G differs from its sibling in many ways, namely in terms of specifications. It features a smaller 6.67-inch AMOLED display with 2400 x 1080px resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, 1300 nits peak brightness, and Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The screen also has a built-in fingerprint scanner and a cutout housing a 16MP selfie camera.
Additionally, the phone also has dual speakers with Dolby Atmos and Hi-Res Audio certification, 3.5mm headphone jack, a USB-C port, as well as IP54 splash, water and dust resistance. Unlike the X6 series, though, it does not feature Xiaomi’s new HyperOS platform, but instead the MIUI 14 interface based on Android 13.
Under its hood, the M6 Pro 4G is powered by a MediaTek Helio G99-Ultra chipset, with up to 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 2.2 storage. Apart from that, it also comes with a 5,000mAh battery with 67W wired fast charging support (compatible charger included), as well as built-in Bluetooth 5.2, dual-band Wi-Fi and NFC wireless connectivity.
As for imaging, this variant of the smartphone offers a triple camera setup consisting of a 64MP primary lens, 8MP ultra-wide, and a 2MP macro. For comparison, its 5G sibling only features a 50MP primary and a 2MP depth sensor.
The new POCO M6 Pro 4G is available in Malaysia now, starting from RM999 for the 8GB + 256GB trim and RM1,199 for the 12GB + 512GB option. However, the brand is currently offering the phone at a special early-bird price exclusively on its official Shopee store until 18 January 2024. During this period, the former configuration is available at only RM839 while the latter at only RM1,039.
