When the ASUS Zenbook Duo first showed up, it had a small secondary screen sitting above the keyboard that served as a supplement to the main one. Now, as the laptop gets a refresh as part of the CES 2024 unveilings, the series is going is a slightly different direction, with the second screen taking over the entirety of the lower half.
If this sounds like a familiar idea, this is because Lenovo did this with the Yoga Book 9i last year. Though there looks to be one key difference with the implementation, which is the Bluetooth keyboard coming with its own track pad. This also means that it is larger, and covers the entirety of the bottom half if you place it there to use the ASUS Zenbook Duo like a conventional laptop.
Moving on to items on the spec sheet, which starts with its dual 14-inch 3K 120Hz 16:10 screens. On the inside, the ASUS Zenbook Duo can have up to an Intel Core Ultra 9 185H processor, 32GB of LPDDR5x RAM and 2TB of PCIe 4 SSD storage, as well as a battery that is rated at 75 Wh.
Beyond the Zenbook Duo, ASUS also announced the more conventional Vivobook Pro 15 OLED, which sports a more conventional 16:9 aspect ratio. It still sports 3K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. Inside, it gets up to an Intel Core Ultra 9 CPU, an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060 GPU, up to 24GB of RAM (with 8GB on board), up to 2TB of PCIe 4 SSD storage, and a 75 Wh battery.
Finally there are the ASUS Vivobook S laptops, coming in 14-, 15- and 16-inch sizes, each coming in Intel and AMD versions. The 15-inch model is sort of the odd one out, as it’s the only model with a 16:9 aspect ratio and 32GB of RAM. While the 16-inch model has a 3.2K display as opposed to the usual 3K, it and the 14-inch variant goes only up to 16GB of RAM but sport a 16:10 aspect ratio display.
On one hand, there are no local pricing and availability details just yet. But on the other, ASUS Malaysia will be launching these locally on 19 January, which is probably when we will get those details.
