NVIDIA pulled back the curtain from its GeForce RTX 40 Super Series today, making the existence of the RTX 4070 Super, 4070 Ti Super, and the 4080 Super. As you’d expect, the new cards are updated variants of their non-Super siblings, with some performance boosts to boot.
Starting with the RTX 4070 Super, the GPU is now officially the middle child of the RTX 4070 lineup, providing gamers looking for a 1440p gaming option. Specs-wise, the card comes with approximately 50% more CUDA cores than the non-Super, 7,168 CUDA cores specifically. It also comes with a higher base clock at 1.98GHz.
Moving on, the RTX 4070 Ti Super is set to replace the original RTX 4070 Ti, also featuring an slightly higher base clock of 2.34GHz and a CUDA core count of 8,448 cores, which is practically on par with the RTX 4080.
Speaking of which, the RTX 4080 Super serves as the top-of-the-line for the Super series and effectively replaces the non-Super RTX 4080. Specs-wise, the two GPUs are nearly identical, save that the Super variant ships out with a slightly higher boost clock of 2.55GHz and 10,240 CUDA cores that, if we were to draw comparison, is just as many as the RTX 4090. Additionally, it also has a slightly lower average gaming power consumption of 246W versus the 251W of its predecessor.
The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40 Super lineup will be available starting 17 January for the RTX 4070 Super, 24 January for the RTX 4070 Ti Super, and 31 January for the RTX 4080 Super. Pricing starts from RM3,240 for the 4070 Super, RM4,320 for the 4070 Ti Super, and RM5,400 for the 4080 Super.
