Infinix may soon be releasing yet another budget phone into the smartphone market with the Smart 8 Pro. While yet to be launched, the Pro model has received local certification on SIRIM, hinting at an imminent arrival in the near future.
Listed with the model number X6525B, the Smart 8 Pro received certification just a couple of weeks ago on 20 December 2023. Oddly enough, its lower-end siblings, the vanilla Smart 8 as well as the Smart 8 HD, have yet to be listed, so it’s uncertain exactly which variants will be made available here.
While nothing about the Pro model has been made official yet, it was recently spotted on Google Play Console and some of its key specs were revealed. According to the listing, the Smart 8 Pro will run on the MediaTek Helio P35 chipset with 3GB of RAM and will ship with Android 13. It will also sport a 720p display that is expected to be 6.6 inches in size.
The base model Smart 8 was unveiled last November with a Unisoc T606 chipset, a 90Hz display, a 5,000mAh battery, 10W charging support, and a 13MP main camera, priced at NGN82,000 (~RM418). While we don’t know anything about the pricing or availability of the Pro, we can expect it to cost a few hundred more than the vanilla variant.
