OnePlus has announced a new upper-midrange smartphone dubbed the OnePlus Ace 3. It is equipped with high-end specs that would be akin to a 2023 flagship phone, but takes a backseat to the brand’s OnePlus 12 that is equipped with a newer chipset and Hasselblad-branded cameras.
The OnePlus Ace 3 uses a 6.7-inch LTPO AMOLED display with a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, a staggering peak brightness of 4,500 nits, and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 for protection. Inside the chassis is last year’s Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC with up to 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage, although the configurations for the global version might differ. Moreover, the brand fitted the phone with its signature alert slider.
On the back, the OnePlus Ace 3 offers a 50MP Sony IMX890 primary camera with OIS, an 8MP ultra-wide, and a 2MP macro lens, while the front houses a 16MP selfie unit. For the battery, it has a large capacity of 5,500mAh and is paired with support for 100W fast wired charging.
The OnePlus Ace 3 comes in three colour options and has a starting price of CNY2,599 (~RM1,685). It is expected to be released to the global market as the OnePlus 12R, which will be launching internationally alongside the OnePlus 12 on 23 January. While we don’t know when the lineup will be arriving in Malaysia, we can predict that it will likely be soon as both devices have already been listed on SIRIM.
