After almost half a year, HONOR has finally brought over the Magic V2, the brand’s thinnest foldable smartphone to date. The phone was first unveiled in China back in July, showing off an impressively-thin design while still offering high-end specs.
The Magic V2 features a huge 7.92-inch OLED inner display when unfolded, with a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 1,600 nits. In its folded form, the regular-sized outer display sports a 6.43-inch OLED display which also comes with a 120Hz refresh rate but with a much higher peak brightness of 2,500 nits.
For its dimensions, the foldable device is only 9.9mm when folder while its unfolded form boasts a thickness of just 4.7mm. Moreover, it only weighs 231g, which is just 10g heavier than something like an iPhone 15 Pro Max. While it’s definitely the thinnest foldable in HONOR’s lineup, it’s not the lightest as that crown goes to the Vs2 at 229g, which has yet to receive an international launch.
Internally, the phone runs on last year’s Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage. Powering the Magic V2 is a 5,000mAh battery with support for 66W wired charging. For connectivity, it is compatible with 5G, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.3, and NFC.
On the photography side, the back of the phone is equipped with three sensors, namely a 50MP main unit with OIS, a 20MP telephoto with OIS and 2.5x optical zoom, and a 50MP ultra-wide lens with autofocus. For selfies, both the internal and external displays house 16MP front-facing cameras.
The Magic V2 comes in three colours options and a single configuration with a price tag of RM6,999. Moreover, the brand is offering a free screen replacement for the phone within the first 180 days of purchase and a 50% discount on a screen replacement for the first 365 days.
