The date of the next Samsung Unpacked event, where the company is expected to reveal its Galaxy S24 line, has been leaked a few times already. These leaks point to different times for different timezones, but they all line up perfectly with each other, giving credence to the information. Now, the South Korean tech giant has finally officially announced the dates for the upcoming event, confirming the prior leaks.
On the official Samsung Malaysia account on X, previously Twitter, the local arm of the brand says that the Samsung Unpacked event will be happening at 2AM, on 18 January 2024. This pretty much lines up with the 3AM KST time we got from prior leaks. In a press release, the company specifically mentions “the new Galaxy S series”, leaving no real room for doubt that the S24 line will be showing up.

Of course, with the whole official unveiling scheduled for the Samsung Unpacked event, the company is not confirming the official specs of the Galaxy S24 phones. But we’ve already seen a snipped of what they have to offer from the most recent leak by @evleaks, linked above.
One thing that was not addressed in said leak was the possibility of the base and Plus models sporting the brand’s own Exynos 2400 chipset rather than the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. And while the chipset discrepancy is usually market dependent, ours usually sees the in-house chip making an appearance when it’s available.
While the Galaxy S24 would be the main focus of the event, it remains to be seen if there are any other reveals being lined up for the Samsung Unpacked event. If you haven’t already marked the date down on your calendars, now’s about as good a time as any to do so.
