OnePlus launched the Buds Pro 2 in its home market of China very early in the year. And it looks like the next model in the series will be launched equally early next year. That is, according to the brand’s post on Weibo, which mentions a OnePlus Buds 3.
In addition to showing of the OnePlus Buds 3 in two different colours, the post also mentions a launch event happening on 2:30PM on 4 January. While not explicitly mentioned, this launch is likely only for its home market, with a global availability coming shortly after.
On that note, the OnePlus 12 and 12R are currently scheduled to get their own launches on 23 January. If this also coincides with the phones actually being available for purchase, that may also be when customers will be able to buy the OnePlus Buds 3. It may even be renamed to the Buds Pro 3, considering beyond the very first model, every subsequent entry arrived with a suffix, be it Pro or Z.
But going back to the buds themselves, industry leakster @evleaks has shared on X, formerly Twitter, an image of everything that comes in the box of the OnePlus Buds 3. Nothing out of the ordinary here, as we can see additional ear tip sizes as well as the charging cable coming along with the main product. There’s also a short clip of the stem of the earbuds’ gesture controls in action, from taps to slides for various functions. Again, most of these are what users of TWS buds would already be used to.

At any rate, we’ll have to wait for either of these dates to pass before we get any local pricing and availability details for the OnePlus Buds 3. Or if will indeed be called the Buds Pro 3 when that happens.
