There have been plenty of Samsung Galaxy S24 leaks, from its spec sheet to its release date. In fact, on the latter, there have been two, with serial leakster Ice Universe claiming that it will happen on 18 January, and South Korean news outlet TheElec reporting a 17 January launch in San Jose. If what was recently shared by another leakster, @evleaks, is to be believed, both are accurate. According to his leak, the next Galaxy Unpacked event is scheduled to happen on 18 January, at 3AM KST, which is about 10AM the day before in San Jose.
The leakster shared on X, formerly Twitter, what looks to be a countdown timer to the aforementioned date and time. Beyond that is what looks like official press material showcasing some specs of the Samsung Galaxy S24 series. From this, it looks like the Ultra model will indeed be getting a titanium frame, while the base and Plus model retains the aluminium frame.
Screen sizes vary a little between the models, with the base Samsung Galaxy S24 getting a 6.2-inch Full HD+ screen. The Plus model gets bumped up to 6.7 inches and QHD+, while the ultra gets a 6.8-inch QHD+ screen. All three have a maximum brightness of 2,600 nits.
On storage, the leak corroborates previous claims of 256GB and 512GB storage options, but the 1TB option is notably missing. For RAM, the base Samsung Galaxy S24 will keep having only 8GB of RAM, while the Plus and Ultra models will be getting 12GB instead. Inversely, the base and Plus models will have a 50MP main camera and up to 3x optical zoom, while the Ultra gets a 10x telephoto 200MP main shooter.
The batteries for the Samsung Galaxy S24, S24 Plus and S24 Ultra are rated at 4,000mAh, 4,900mAh and 5,000mAh, respectively. Exact charging rates are not provided in this leak, but it comes instead with these claimed charging times of “0 to 50% in 30 minutes” for the base model, and “0 to 65% in 30 minutes” for the other two. And to wrap it all up is the IP68 rating for all three.
Both the countdown timer and spec sheet have since been taken down “in response to a report by the copyright holder”, lending more legitimacy to the claim. One thing that does remain uncertain is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset being labelled among the “standard features” across all three Samsung Galaxy S24 models. While this will likely be true for some markets, others may still see the base and Plus model sporting the company’s own Exynos 2400 chipset instead. For that, we’ll have to wait until after the launch for confirmation by the brand itself.
