The government has announced that the Central Database Hub (PADU) will officially be launching in January as earlier revealed and, more importantly, that Malaysians will be able to start registering their details starting 2 January 2024. This can be done either online or even offline for those who don’t have access to the internet.
PADU has been in the works for a while and aims to provide the government with more accurate data on household incomes. Through “near real time” analytics, the granular data will help the government formulate policies and programmes to eradicate poverty and beyond while also reducing administration processes.

While not mandatory, the Ministry of Economy encourages every citizen over 18 to update their details in the database in order to ensure they don’t miss out on any subsidies or social care programmes that they qualify for. Individual profiles will have 39 points of information including your current address, occupation, and income; the details in your profile can be updated at any time.
Malaysians can register and update their details through the PADU portal or if they do not have access to the internet, they can also do so by filling out forms at helps desks and certain government premises such as district offices and government agencies. One of the planned targeted subsidies that will be using this database includes the upcoming targeted RON95 petrol subsidy that will be rolled out in the second half of 2024.
