MSI officially launched the Spatium M570 Pro Frozr, the brand’s first M.2 SSD that can truly boast PCIe Gen5 speeds. The storage medium is built with what it describes as the state-of-the-art 3DNAND flash and paired with Phison’s new E26 PCIe Gen5 controller.
On paper, the Spatium M570 can boast average sequential read and write speeds of 12.4GB/s and 11.8GB/s, respectively, making it exceptionally faster than even PCIe Gen4 SSDs on the current market that typically have an average sequential read and write speeds of 7GB/s. “The Spatium M570 Pro PCIe 5.0 NVMe M.2 Frozr, powered by the latest Phison E26 PCIe 5.0 controller technology with state-of-the-are 3D NAND flash, and a cutting-edge passive thermal solution, makes a significant leap in storage performance, unleashing the latest in extreme transfer rates of up to 12,400 MB/s sequential read & 11,800 MB/s sequential write speeds for demanding professionals, content creators, and gamers.”
However, that speed comes at the cost of extreme heat generation, to which MSI is prepared to counter with a massive and dare we say, thicc passive heatsink that looks like a mini passive cooler tower. “The U-shaped Core Pipes and the flattened heat pipe surface ensure optimal heat transfer to the top and middle of the surfaced heatsink, making the FROZR a revolutionary solution for sustaining maximum storage throughput under heavy workloads.”
The MSI Spatium M570 Pro Frozr will be available in three capacity options: 1TB, 2TB, and 4TB. At the time of writing, the brand did not specify local availability or pricing.
