Casio today has announced that its collaborative timepiece with Honda Type R, the Edifice ECB-2200HTR is now available in Malaysia. The model pays homage to all of the automaker’s racing-tuned car line-up, featuring a design and colour scheme which fans can immediately recognise.
As you can tell by its model name, the new watch is based on the watch brand‘s Edifice ECB-2200, but with Honda Type R branding and design elements featured all over. Most notable being the iconic Red H badge on its black grille-inspired honeycomb watch face, along with a white dial ring, red accents, and a speedometer-inspired inset dial. It’s also worth mentioning that the white paint featured used is the same “Championship White” colour that’s featured on Honda’s Type R cars.
Meanwhile, its white genuine leather straps are printed with the model codes of cars including the NSX NA1 and the more recent Civic FL5, while its underside features Alcantara material. Besides that, the watch’s metal loop and rear case come with engraved Type R logos, the deployment buckle with a Honda logo, and the stopwatch timer button with an R mark.
Even though the Edifice x Honda Type R model or the base ECB-2200 are not considered as smartwatches, they do come with Casio’s Mobile Link. This particular feature allows the timepiece to pair with a smartphone via Bluetooth to provide automatic time correction, and making it easy to set world time and other functions. Additionally, it has Tough Solar charging, double LED light for its LCD and dial, and water resistance up to 100 metres.
The new Casio Edifice x Honda Type R ECB220HTR is priced at RM2,399 and is available now via the brand’s official e-commerce website. Alternatively, the watch will also be offered through authorised G-Shock stores, G-Factory and dealers nationwide from 20 December 2023 onwards.
