Shortly after the release of the Spark 20 mid-range smartphone earlier this month, Tecno has announced its direct upgrade, the Spark 20 Pro, for the Philippines market. The new device features the more efficient MediaTek Helio G99 chipset, a 108MP main camera, and a variety of colourways to choose from.
From the looks of it, the brand aims to improve upon what they have started with the Tecno Spark 20C. Along with the other facets, the newly announced model also sports IP53 water and dust resistance, dual stereo speakers, dual video view, NFC support, AI wallpapers, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, and a headphone jack.
The Spark 20 Pro has a 6.78-inch IPS LCD display with FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate, where a 32MP selfie camera is located within its punch-hole cutout. As with the two prior models under the line-up, it too comes with the Dynamic Port feature, which displays system information and notifications. On the opposite side, you have a 108MP main camera with a 1/1.67” sensor and f/1.75 aperture, as well as two auxiliary cameras.
As stated earlier, the phone features a mid-range MediaTek Helio G99 chipset and has 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, the latter of which can be expanded upon via the microSD slot. The Spark 20 Pro runs on Tecno’s HiOS 13 system, which is based on Android 13. The phone also has a 5,000mAh battery and can support 33W fast charging.
Moreover, the new handset comes in four colourways: Moonlit Black, Frosty Ivory, Sunset Blush and Magic Skin 2.0 Green, with the last one featuring a distinct textured engraving design that is exclusive to that colour. Despite the wide range of colours to choose from, it is still not sure if all of them would be available to the Malaysian market. If you may recall from the original Spark 20, only two of their four options are available, being Gravity Black and Cyber White.
At the time of writing, the pricing and availability for the Spark 20 Pro have not been disclosed for the Malaysian market yet. In the Philippine, it is priced at PHP5,599 (~RM470) but if its previous incarnation is anything to base it on, the newer variant will most likely hit the local shelves as well pretty in the near future.
