OnePlus has announced the official launch date of the OnePlus 12 series. Following its Chinese release earlier this month, OnePlus’ latest smartphone will make its global debut on 23 January 2024. The smartphone-maker is also set to release its OnePlus 12R model on the same date.
In a teaser video posted on X this past Friday, the Chinese manufacturer teases the latest smartphones, and shortly after that, an accompanying microsite went online and lists out key specifications for the OnePlus 12, but not for the 12R.

According to the official microsite, OnePlus’ latest flagship will be the first device to run on Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor. The OnePlus 12 features Hasselblad-branded cameras, including a 50-megapixel primary lens with a Sony LYT-808 sensor and optical image stabilisation (OIS). Additionally, it also has a 64-megapixel telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom, similar to what’s found in the OnePlus Open foldable. The handheld comes with a 5,400mAh battery and is capable of 100W wired SuperVOOC and 50W AIRVOOC charging support.
At the time of writing, based on what’s currently sold in the Chinese market today, the OnePlus 12 will come in different storage variants, with its 12GB+256GB being the cheapest. It also has 16GB+512GB, 16GB+1TB, and a 24GB+1TB version as well.
As mentioned earlier, no information has yet been released in regards to the budget-friendly OnePlus 12R, but it is highly speculated that details of it will likely be announced at the smartphone’s global official launch. It is also worth noting that this will be the first time OnePlus will be launching an R-series device internationally.
