[UPDATE: 15 December 2023, 12:40pm] TMT has recently updated the pre-order price for the HONOR X8b to RM999. As before, we cannot confirm whether the retailer’s pricing is accurate or not since the HONOR itself has yet to officially launch the smartphone.

HONOR today has revealed that two more of its X-series smartphones will be coming to Malaysia later this month. These are the X8b and X7b models, which are basically updated versions of the X8a and X7a but with slight improvements in hardware, including a shift from MediaTek to Snapdragon chipsets.
The HONOR X8b offers a 6.7-inch FHD+ display with 90Hz refresh rate, 3240Hz PWM dimming and 2000 nits brightness. It also features a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, a Snapdragon 680 chipset, 16GB RAM and 512GB internal storage. Powering it is a 4,500mAh battery with 35W fast charging support via USB-C.
Imaging-wise, this model comes with a triple camera setup on its back which consists of a 108MP primary, 5MP ulta-wide, and a 2MP macro. The first of which is a slight upgrade over the HONOR X8a, which only comes with a 100MP primary sensor. Meanwhile, up front is a 50MP camera with Selfie Light function.
Next is the HONOR X7b which, according to listings found online, mostly shares the same specifications as the above model, but sports a completely different design. Like the X8b, it too comes with a 6.7-inch display with FHD+ resolution, 3240Hz PWM dimming, 90Hz refresh rate, and 2000 nits peak brightness. There’s also a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, as well as an on-board dual speaker audio system.
Accompanying its Snapdragon 680 chipset is 8GB of RAM, and 256GB of internal memory. Its battery comes with a massive 6,000mAh capacity, while its USB-C fast charging rate is at 35W.
For photography, on the back of the HONOR X7b is a triple camera setup that’s arranged within two vertical circles. Unlike the X7a, this model comes with a larger 108MP primary camera, paired together with a 5MP ultra-wide and a 2MP macro. On the other hand, housed within the punch-hole cutout on the display is an 8MP selfie camera.
HONOR will officially launch the X8b and X7b in Malaysia next week on 22 December 2023, and will only provide details regarding their respective pricing and availability by then. However, it does appear that local stores have already listed the pricing for both devices on their e-commerce platforms, though we can’t actually confirm whether these are actually accurate or not. According to TMT, the former is priced at RM899 and is available in either Glamourous Green or Titanium Silver colour options, while the latter is at RM799 and is offered in either Emerald Green or Flowing SIlver.
