Last week, Infinix introduced the Hot 40 series, its latest lineup of affordable smartphones. The series is made up of three devices and it looks like at least two of them will be coming to the Malaysian market soon as they have received certification from SIRIM.
The top-of-the-line 40 Pro with the model number X6837 was listed on 6 November while the entry-level 40i appeared on the database on 10 November. It seems that only the standard Hot 40 model has not received certification yet, so we’ll have to see whether it gets listed before the brand announces a local launch for the lineup or that it will be excluded entirely.
The Hot 40 Pro sports a 6.78-inch 1080p 120Hz LCD display and runs on a mid-range MediaTek Helio G99 chipset with a 5000mAh battery powering it as well as 33W charging. For photography, it is equipped with a 108MP main camera, a 2MP macro lens, and a depth sensor.
On the other hand, the Hot 40i gets a 6.56-inch 720p 90Hz display with a Unisoc T606 chip, a 5,000mAh battery, and support for 18W charging. On the camera side, it carries a 50MP primary unit alongside a depth sensor. While we don’t know anything about local pricing and availability just yet, the company has stated that each model will be priced under US$200 (~RM936).
