Last month, the vivo X100 series was unveiled in China as the brand’s latest pair of flagship devices as well as being the first smartphones to feature MediaTek’s Dimensity 9300 chipset. While the company has confirmed a global launch for next week, it has not given out any detail about the availability of the series in Malaysia, but the recent listings of both phones in the SIRIM database implies that they will be making their way here in the near future.
The X100 (model number V2308) and the Pro variant (model number V2309) received SIRIM certification on 16 November and 1 December respectively. According to its launch page, the series will be debuting on the global stage on 14 December, so we can expect to hear about the Malaysian release soon after the event.
For the specs, both phones sport a 6.78-inch LTPO AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 3,000 nits. As previously mentioned, they run on the high-end Dimensity 9300 SoC and powering them are a 5,000mAh battery for the vanilla model and a bigger 5,400mAh battery for the Pro. This is accompanied by 120W and 100W wired charging respectively, with 50W wireless charging being exclusive to the Pro to make up for the slower charging speed.
As for the cameras, the two flagship devices are equipped with a 50MP main unit and a 50MP ultra-wide lens, although the primary shooter on the Pro is notably larger with a 1-inch sensor. The standard X100 also has a 64MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom while the X100 Pro gets a 50MP telephoto with 4.3x optical zoom.
