The Lenovo Legion Go is finally coming to Malaysia, less than a month after we got laid our hands on the brand’s gaming handheld console. Preorders for the console are set to go live tomorrow, with the console retailing at RM3,999.
That price tag makes the Legion Go way more expensive and actually runs counter to an earlier report, whereby Lenovo listed down the prices of the handheld console at two price points: RM3,099 and RM3,399. The former price tag clearly reserved for the console running on the non-Extreme Ryzen Z1 SoC. We’ve reached out to Lenovo on the subject but at the time of writing, we have yet to hear back from the brand.
Speaking of chipset, the Legion Go model that Lenovo is pushing out to the public is the one fitted with the more powerful AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme. To sweeten the pot even further, during the preorder period, which takes place between 8 and 17 December, customers who put down an order for the console will be eligible for a Purchase with Purchase (PWP) deal for the Legion E510, which are Lenovo’s 7.1 Surround RGB Gaming in-ear headphones, at a special price of RM249, instead of paying full price for it at RM389. Adding on to that, Lenovo will also give all Legion Go preorder customers a complimentary screen protector worth RM109.
We got a chance to get up close and personal with the Legion Go earlier last month and in the process, found numerous things that we love and hate about the gaming handheld, so you can read about it over there. We’ve also have an in-depth review of the console coming out soon, so check back on this space.
By the way, it should be noted that the preorder deals do not include the Legion Glasses, which is, in this writer’s opinion, a star in its own right. Lenovo still isn’t providing a set price for it, but the accessory is perhaps one of the best products to complement the Legion Go. Recap, the glasses feature a built-in micro OLED display where the lenses are situated and supports resolutions of up to FHD and at a 60Hz refresh rate. The best part about this accessory, though, is that outside of the Legion Go, it can be used with virtually every USB-C device. And yes, that includes the new iPhone 15 Pro series. Believe us, we tested it out.
