The iQOO 12, the latest flagship smartphone from the vivo sub-brand, is set to get a Malaysian launch on 6 December and while we already know about the specs of the phone from its debut in China, we don’t yet know the pricing and configuration for the local market. However, ahead of the official launch, the retail price of the upcoming device might have already been accidentally revealed.
In a now-deleted post on Facebook, Shopee posted a promotional teaser for its upcoming 12.12 sale period featuring iQOO smartphones. Notably, the poster included the iQOO 12 front and centre with a retail price of RM3,399 and a promotional price of RM2,919 after discounts using 12.12 vouchers.
This price was for a configuration with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage, although it’s possible there could be offered with more than one configuration. While it has already been taken down, the fact that the poster came directly from Shopee with iQOO’s logo featured on it does lend it credibility, but of course, there’s always a chance the figure could be different when it finally launches.
To recap, the iQOO 12 will be the first smartphone in the Malaysian market to feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. It sports a 144Hz AMOLED display and has a triple camera setup on the back made up of a 50MP main sensor with OIS, a 64MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom, and a 50MP ultra-wide lens.
Moreover, the phone packs a 5,000mAh battery with support for 120W charging. Based on the teasers that we’ve seen from the brand, it seems unlikely that the iQOO 12 Pro will be making its way here, although the only notable differences between the two are the display and the lack of wireless charging in the non-Pro model.
