Last week, alongside rolling out support for debit card payments, KTM also announced that it will start accepting credit cards by the end of the month. As promised, the company has announced today, the very last day of the month, that users can now use their credit cards at the Automatic Control Gates (ACG). The announcement was made via its social medial channels.
That being said, not just any credit card can be used when taking a KTM ride. As is usually the case, you will be fine if the card you have is a Visa or Mastercard. But if you have, say, only an America Express card, then you won’t be able to make use of your credit card at the ACG. Answering a question on its Facebook page, the company also says that while the use of debit cards are limited to local cards, the same limitation does not apply to credit cards, as long as they use either the Visa or Mastercard network.

Common credit card network limitations aside, some users take issue with the amount of time the payment process takes. Replies to the announcement on X, previously Twitter, include two complaints on the matter, with one outright suggesting fellow riders to use ewallets instead to save time. Though to be fair, frequent riders would be aware that this is not an isolated issue, as even using Touch ‘n Go and debit cards take quite a bit longer than the ewallet alternatives.
At any rate, the two more payment options that KTM has promised to add that has yet to arrive are Apple Pay and Samsung Pay. These were previously announced as coming early next year, though at the time, no specific date was provided.
