Samsung, via its branch in Spain, unveiled three new variants of its Pokemon-themed Galaxy Buds cases yesterday, featuring designs based on the Great Ball, Master Ball and Ultra Ball from Nintendo’s popular video game franchise. The new collection expands upon the collaboration’s original accessory that was released last year, which is based on the original red and white Poke Ball.
Now, here’s the good news: All three newly announced Poke Ball cases for the Samsung Galaxy Buds series are coming to Malaysia. Based on our findings, the trio are already listed on Samsung Malaysia’s website, though it appears that they’re only being offered via the brand’s official experience stores across the country. Since there’s actually one very close to where we are, we decided to drop by to verify this.
At the store, we were delighted to find that the new Pokemon-themed cases are already on display, though only the Master Ball and Ultra Ball are present. Despite this, Samsung staff confirmed with us that all three variants will indeed be sold in Malaysia “soon.” While the actual date has yet to be determined, a representative from the company which we’ve contacted separately has informed us that each Poke Ball case will retail for RM169. We will keep you posted once we’ve received more information regarding their local availability.
Another thing to keep in mind is that these cases are actually just shells for you to place the actual Galaxy Buds charging cases. On that note, Samsung says these are compatible with the Galaxy Buds Pro, Galaxy Buds Live, Galaxy Buds 2, Galaxy Buds 2 Pro, and also the recently launched Galaxy Buds FE. Unfortunately, those who own the original Galaxy Buds and Galaxy Buds Plus are left out.
Of course, these are not the only Pokemon-themed Galaxy Buds accessories that Samsung has introduced this year. Back in June, the company introduced three different case covers based on Snorlax, Ditto and Jigglypuff which, sadly, is only available in Korea.
