Earlier this week, we saw vivo teasing the arrival of the latest flagship device from its sub-brand, the iQOO 12. The phone was launched in China just a few weeks ago and shortly after, it was spotted on the SIRIM database, meaning that its local debut was already expected to come soon.
Unsurprisingly, the company has announced that the iQOO will be released in Malaysia next week on 6 December. Based on the teasers as well as the SIRIM, it is highly likely that our market will only be getting the standard version and not the 12 Pro. The only differences between the Pro and non-Pro iQOO 12 are that the former has a curved display with a higher resolution and wireless charging, along with a nominally larger battery.
The rallying cry behind this device is that the brand calls the phone the first in the country to feature the brand-new Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, and rightfully so. Other specs of the iQOO 12 include a flat 6.78-inch E7 AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 3,000 nits.
On the photography side, it is equipped with a 50MP OmniVision OV50H main sensor with OIS, a 64MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom and up to 100x digital zoom, and a 50MP ultra-wide lens that doubles as a macro lens. Powering it will either be a 5,000mAh or 4,880mAh battery with support for 120W wired charging. To know more about the phone, you can check out our hands on with the iQOO 12.
