Back in June of last year, Capcom confirmed that Dragon’s Dogma 2 was in production. It’s been quite awhile since then, to say the least, and the publisher now has a release date for the game. There’s also a showcase of a new class that is exclusive to the player character.
Said class is called the Trickster, which looks to mostly be a support class. As the name implies, the class primarily uses smoke to do things like tricking enemies into attacking each other, or buffing allies for a period of time. The idea is interesting, but when it’s exclusive to players, those who hate being at the mercy of their Pawns for damage will likely have a hard time with it.
Of course, this is not the only class in Dragon’s Dogma 2 that’s exclusive to the Arisen. There are two more, which are the Macick Archer and Mystic Spearhand, the former mixing magic and ranged attacks, while the latter does melee and magic. Both are capable of support too, making them much more versatile for a player exclusive class.
Capcom also touched on the story of Dragon’s Dogma 2, which will have a familiar setting while also taking place in a parallel world. The plot is very Skyrim-esque, with the Arisen being stuck in between two nations with opposing but equally flawed politics. You’ll probably be made to choose one or the other, but hopefully there is a neutral option, or better yet, a chaotic option that allows you to destroy both.
At any rate, Dragon’s Dogma 2 will be out on 22 March next year, for the PS5 and Steam. You can check out the stream which has the Trickster showcase, as well as the official site for the game.
