OnePlus is set to launch its next flagship smartphone on 5 December in China and has already teased its fans with the design and some key features of the OnePlus 12. While the company has yet to announce international availability, the phone’s latest listing is its strongest indicator yet that it will be coming to the Malaysian market.
Listed last week on 22 November, the OnePlus 12 received local certification from SIRIM with the model number CPH2581. This means that the phone is more than likely to be sold here in the near future. In fact, leakster Max Jambor claims that the brand is planning on bringing the phone to the global stage next January.
Most of the specs for the OnePlus 12 are still being kept under wraps but we know that it will run on the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset and that its camera setup will feature a 3x periscope lens with Hasselblad tuning. According to rumours, the main camera will be using a 50MP Sony LYT-808 sensor while the telephoto lens will be equipped with a 64MP sensor.
For the design, the OnePlus 12 shares plenty of similarities with its predecessor but now the metal rails surrounding the camera module have changed colours to match the back of the phone. The alert slider has also been shifted to the left-hand side to accommodate a new antenna technology. We don’t know what configurations will be offered, especially in Malaysia, so stay tuned for any updates from the company regarding a local launch.
