Earlier this month, TNG Digital introduced GOrewards, a loyalty programme for Touch ‘n Go eWallet users. Initially, you could only earn points for this programme when you make payments through QR codes generated by TnG but now, it seems that the app is opening up the earnings potential to all payments using the interoperable standard.
As posted by Touch ‘n Go eWallet, GOrewards now supports all DuitNow QR codes, allowing you to earn one point for every RM1 spent through the e-wallet app. This is in addition to the other TnG eWallet transactions that are eligible for the programme, include showing your app’s QR code to pay, making an online payment, paying through the eWallet Visa card, outbound GOremit transactions, as well as payments for bills, telcos, app stores, and in-app insurance.
Of course, there are transactions that are ineligible for GOrewards points like eWallet top-ups, fund transfers, toll payments, and parking using PayDirect and RFID. While the minimum is a 1% rebate for most transactions, the programme also offers up to 6x points when you make a purchase with select merchants and even 11x for Insure360.
Unfortunately, you can’t cash out these points in the form of cash but instead, you’ll be able to redeem vouchers through the app’s catalogue. Touch ‘n Go eWallet also mentioned in its announcement post that it has more surprises coming early next month, so stay tuned for any updates.
