It’s not everyday we see two phones that look to be identical bearing different names. But it looks like this is the case with two phones that were recently certified by China Telecom. They are the realme V50 and V50s, but barring their names and different model numbers, they have basically the same spec sheet.
Both the realme V50 and V50s sport the same MediaTek Dimensity 6100 Plus chipset, a 6.72-inch Full HD+ display, and a 5,0000mAh battery. They even share the three same RAM and storage configurations too, with the choices being 4GB + 128GB, 6GB + 128GB and 8GB + 256GB.
For their cameras, both the realme V50 and V50s have a 13MP + 2MP dual camera setup at the back. In front, both share an 8MP secondary shooter sitting in a punch hole cutout. Similarly, the two phones charge using USB-C, and have a 3.5mm audio jack.
Interestingly, both phones also may be sold with the same price across their three variants. These are priced at RMB1,199 (~RM786), RMB1,499 (~RM983) and RMB1,799 (~RM1,179), respectively.
Incidentally, both the realme V50 and V50s are only listed with one colour variant each. While it’s not uncommon for the same phone to use a slightly different model number for different colourways, it’s pretty bizarre to see a different name just for colour differentiation.
Despite the listing having their prices already listed, it is still not yet known when they will actually be launched. As you can imagine, the same can be said for pricing and launch details for other markets, if they even make it that far.
