If you remember, Apple made quite the big deal of the iPhone 15 Pro‘s gaming chops. Showcased during the phone’s initial announcement were the two latest games in Capcom’s horror series, Resident Evil Village and Resident Evil 4 Remake. The latter now has a release date for all of the fruit company’s devices that can run it. This includes both variants of the iPhone 15 Pro, iPads and Macs with M1 chips or later.
What’s more, Resident Evil 4 Remake for these platforms will also support Universal Purchase. Which is another way of saying you can, say, buy the game via your iPad, but still continue playing on your Mac or iPhone. With this, there’s also cross-progression, allowing you to continue wherever you left off, whichever device you decide to continue on. This is in contrast with Resident Evil Village, which doesn’t support Universal Purchase for some reason.
Infiltrate the village, save baby Eagle!
Resident Evil 4 launches on December 20th for iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max and all iPads with the M1 chip or later! A demo will be available for those wanting a taste of Leon's intense mission!Pre-order on the App Store now! pic.twitter.com/4Pbz6Qigx3

That being said, the remake works the same way as the latest chronological game; you can play a bit of Resident Evil 4 Remake for free like a demo. But at some point you’ll be prompted to buy the full game as an in-app purchase. Of course, you can skip the whole demo stage and just buy the game from the get-go.
The Apple App store currently lists Resident Evil 4 Remake as available for pre-order, with full availability expected on 31 December 2023. But Capcom has announced that you don’t have to wait that long, as it will launch on 20 December instead.
