vivo has recently launched its new Y27s mid-range smartphone in Indonesia. It is the third variant of the series, following the 4G and 5G models that were introduced much earlier. Unlike its siblings, the phone is the only entry to feature a punch-hole screen and a Snapdragon chipset.
Different display notwithstanding, the new vivo Y27s mostly sports a similar design to the Y27 5G that was released locally in August. Its screen measures at 6.64-inches, featuring an LED LCD panel with FHD+ (2388 x 1080px) resolution, 90HHz refresh rate and 650 nits peak brightness. Also onboard is a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, dual nano SIM with microSD card support and a USB-C port, while the phone itself is rated at IP54 in terms of water and dust resistance.
On the inside, the phone runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 chipset, along with 8GB RAM and up to 256GB UFS 2.2 storage. Besides that, it also comes with a 5,000mAh battery with 44W fast charging support, Android 13 via Funtouch OS 13, as well as dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth 5.0 and NFC wireless connectivity.
Again, much like its siblings, the phone features the same dual rear camera setup which consists of a 50MP f/1.8 primary and a 2MP f/2.4 depth sensor. Meanwhile, situated within the punch-hole cutout on its front display is an 8MP f/2.0 selfie camera. In terms of colour options, the Y27s is offered in either Garden Green or Burgundy Black.
For the Indonesian market, the new vivo Y-Series mid-range model is retailing at IDR2,399,000 (~RM714) for the 8GB + 128GB trim, and IDR2,799,000 (~RM833) for the 8GB + 256GB version. It’s also worth noting that we’ve recently discovered that the Y27s has already been listed in SIRIM’s e-ComM database, which means that a local launch is likely to happen very soon.
