Mercedes-Benz Malaysia today has launched the 2024 GLC 300 4MATIC Coupe, a sibling to the second-generation GLC 300 SUV which launched back in April. Much like the latter, the newer model also offers a hybrid drivetrain and a slightly larger body than its predecessor.
What primarily set it apart from the base GLC 300 4MATIC is the sloped design on its back, hence the coupe designation. Apart from that, both models mostly share the same specifications to one another, especially in terms of exterior, interior and drivetrain.
To go into detail, the AMG Line exterior package on the Coupe variant boasts Digital Light headlamps with Adaptive Highbeam Assist Plus, aluminium-look running boards with rubber studs, a mirror package, sports suspension, larger front brake discs, wheel arch liners, and a panoramic sliding sunroof. It also comes with 20-inch AMG multi-spoke light-alloy wheels.
On the inside, the new Mercedes-Benz GLC 300 4MATIC Coupe features a 12.3-inch digital instrument screen and an 11.9-inch central infotainment display, while the AMG Line interior trim includes a Nappa leather multi-function steering wheel, Artico leather seats, black fabric roof liner, metal structure trim panels, illuminated door sill panels.
Additionally, it has powered front seats with memory function, Thermatic dual-zone climate control, rear door sunshades, ambient lighting, powered tailgate, and the brand’s Keyless-Go package. And as mentioned earlier, its larger size enables for a boot space of 545 litres, which can be expanded to 1,490 litres with the rear seats folded down.
Performance-wise, under the hood off the GLC 300 4MATIC Coupe is a M254 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine, which offers 258PS (255hp or 190kW) and 400Nm of torque. This is paired with a 9G-Tronic nine-speed automatic transmission and a 4Matic all-wheel-drive system, as well as a 48-volt mild hybrid system that provides an additional 23PS (23hp or 17kW) and 205Nm. According to Mercedes-Benz, the car is capable of accelerating from 0-100km/h in 6.3 seconds and has a top speed of 246km/h.
As far as safety features are concerned, its onboard kit includes blind spot assist, active lane keeping assist, active brake assist, and a Pre-Safe system. Also not forgetting the built-in parking package with 360° camera, and the active parking assist with Parktronic.
The new 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLC 300 4MATIC Coupe is a full-imported CBU model, retailing at RM469,888 on-the-road without insurance. According to the brand’s website, the hybrid SUV is available in Polar White, Spectral Blue, Graphite Grey, Obsidian Black, Mojave Silver, High-tech Silver, and Nautic Blue.
