Maxis users based in Kota Bharu, Kelantan experienced a disruption with the telco’s mobile network today which lasted almost five hours. According to numerous complaints shared on X (formerly Twitter), many have been unable to make outgoing calls or utilise the service’s data since the afternoon.
Users have recently confirmed that the network is finally online again at around 5pm today. Maxis itself has yet to release any official statement regarding the matter, though it did inform some users earlier that it was facing an issue with its mobile service in Kota Bharu as well as several other unspecified locations in Kelantan.

Of course, this isn’t the first time for the telco to experience a problem with its network this year, with the most recent one occurring just last month. Unlike today’s incident, the previous disruption was of a greater scale and had affected Maxis users across the country.
