Tesla Malaysia today announced the official opening of its Supercharging station at Sunway Pyramid, which is located in front of the mall’s main entrance at the valet parking areas. While not the first in the Klang Valley, this particular installation is the EV brand’s first in the state of Selangor.
The station at Sunway Pyramid consists of four Superchargers, bringing the total number of Tesla EV chargers to 16 in the country. The chargers located at the mall are available to use 24/7 and much like its other installations, each of these leverages on the brand’s V3 Supercharging technology, which provides a peak efficiency of 250kW.
As with its other Supercharging stations at Pavilion KL and Sunway Big Box Retail Park in Johor Bahru, usage will cost you RM1.25/kWh, though keep in mind an hourly parking fee of RM5 also applies. Another thing to note is the RM4 per minute penalty imposed for hogging a charger after your car is fully juiced up.
As part of the launch, Tesla is also showcasing its Model 3 and Model Y EVs at Sunway Pyramid until 12 November 2023. Those interested can check the cars out at the mall’s Water Feature Area, which is open to the public.
