The HONOR X9b has finally made its way to the Malaysian market. Following the footsteps of the X9a, the new smartphone’s features centre around its durable design, with the brand claiming that it is even tougher than its predecessor.
First off, it features a 6.78-inch AMOLED panel with curved edges, a peak brightness of 1,200 nits, and a 120Hz refresh rate. Underneath the tough exterior of the X9b is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 chipset with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. As for connectivity, the phone supports 5G and NFC but is also only limited to Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.1.
Its durability comes from its Ultra-Bounce Anti-Drop Display, which uses three layers of protection consisting of single-point reinforcement protection, wraparound cushioning, and deep seal protection. The cushioning can apparently absorb up to 1.2 times the impact of a drop from up to 1.5 metres and in addition, it has a dust and water resistance rating of IP53.
On the back, the X9b sports a triple-camera setup made up of a 108MP main sensor, a 5MP ultra-wide, and a 2MP macro lens, along with a 16MP selfie snapper up front. It is powered by a massive 5,800mAh battery with support for 35W charging.
The HONOR X9b is available for pre-order now for RM1,499 in orange, silver, and black colour options. All purchases of the phone come with a one-year coverage for the front and back, meaning if the screen or back glass gets damaged within 365 days of your purchase, the company will replace it for free.
