It should come as no real surprise that an ASUS ROG Phone 8 is bound to be announced and released next year. But what may come as a surprise is that teasers for the phone have been leaked. Industry leakster Abhishek Yadav has shared an image to that effect in X, previously Twitter.
The teaser in question is in Chinese, but there’s no mistaking two things here. One is the Republic of Gamers branding on the top left corner, and the other is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 badge slap bang in the middle. To be fair, it does not explicitly mention the ASUS ROG Phone 8. That being said, it is just about the only possibility save for the brand surprising everyone by introducing a new gaming phone line.

Also, considering the preceding model was first unveiled back in April, this makes a teaser for the ASUS ROG Phone 8 a bit early, even for a leak. It remains to be seen if this means that the company intends to introduce the phone earlier in 2024 than before. Considering the nature of leaks, it’s also entirely possible that the company started working on marketing materials early, leading to the leaks happening early as well.
While we’re talking about the ASUS ROG Phone 8, one wonders if this is another case of incremental upgrades in spec sheet, with other elements like cooling being the bulk of the improvements over this year’s model. Such was the case between the ROG Phone 6 and 7, which saw changes in the chipset, cooling system, and little else. Either way, it will be awhile still before we find out.
