Malaysia Airlines passengers, regardless of cabin class or loyalty tier, will be entitled to unlimited complimentary in-flight WiFi starting tomorrow, 1 November 2023. This enhancement follows the airline‘s prior offering that was introduced in July this year, where free WiFi connectivity is made available to Business Suite and Business Class passengers, as well as Enrich Platinum members regardless of cabin placement.
According to Malaysia Airlines, the complimentary service will initially be available on 20 select widebody aircraft and will subsequently be rolled out to select narrowbody models in phases. For the former, it is revealed that applicable aircrafts within the airline’s fleet include its six Airbus A350-900, nine Airbus A330-300 and five Airbus A330–200.
As such, the free WiFi offering will be available to passengers across all classes, including those travelling in Economy as well as non–Enrich members. In addition, Malaysia Airlines revealed that the previous data cap of 100MB per sector will no longer apply, therefore giving passengers unlimited data throughout their journeys.
To access the service, simply connect to the airline’s MHconnect network on supported flights, follow the on-screen instructions, and then provide your email address. Keep in mind that you are first required to set your device to Airplane Mode, and connectivity is only allowed once the aircraft reaches cruising altitude.
