It’s been awhile since the PlayStation Pulse Explore TWS buds and the Pulse Elite headset were announced officially. At the time, while the company revealed its US pricing, there were no availability dates for either of them, never mind local details. But now, we get one step closer to that eventuality, as the Sony video games subsidiary has announced the release dates of its audio accessories.
In an update to the initial announcement blog post, the company has revealed that the PlayStation Pulse Explore TWS buds will launch in 6 December of this year. As is usually the case, this starts in a few select markets, of which we are not in. But it normally take too long before local details are announced by SIE. As a refresher, the wireless earbuds were announced with a price tag of US$199.99 (~RM952).
As for the PlayStation Pulse Elite wireless headset, this one looks to be stuck behind the floodgates for a bit. The company says that it “will launch in most global markets starting 21 February 2024, and throughout the following months. No explanation as to why there is such a gap between the release of both audio products though. This was announced with an asking price of US$149.99 (~RM714).
Beyond the audio products themselves, also revealed as part of the update is a PlayStation Link USB Adapter. If you recall, both of these audio products support the PlayStation Link audio tech that was exclusive to the Portal Remote Play handheld. Which means not even the PS5 could make use of this audio tech. To allow the console and other devices to benefit from this, you’ll need the aforementioned USB adapter, which does come with both of the Pulse audio products.
But if you need more so that you can get other devices to benefit from the tech, each additional adapter can be bought separately for US$24.99 (~RM119). It will launch on 6 December alongside the PlayStation Pulse Explore buds.
