Samsung Malaysia has begun taking preorders for its Odyssey Neo G9 ultrawide gaming monitor. Announced back during CES 2023, the monitor is a refresh of the Neo G9 that first launched back in 2021.
What makes the Odyssey Neo G9 2023 model impressive, compared to its predecessors, is that this year, the ultrawide display panel is rated as the world’s first Dual UHD or DUHD panel, boasting a maximum resolution of 7,680 x 2,160 pixel, spread across a display real estate of 57-inches and with an aspect ratio of 32:9. Additional specifications of the ultrawide monitor include a variable refresh rate of up to 240Hz and a 1ms GTG response time, Samsung’s own Quantum Matrix Technology, which is the brand’s fancy name for its Mini LED display technology, and a 1000R Curvature, as well as VESA DisplayHDR 1000 support. For a peak brightness of 1,000 nits.
For display outputs, the Odyssey Neo G9 has one DisplayPort 2.1 port, three HDMI 2.1 ports, a 3.5 headphone jack, and a USB 3.0 hub with two ports. Preorders started on 28 October and will conclude on 8 November. To celebrate the launch, Samsung is offering customers and Early Order E-Voucher. Do note that this offer is on a first-come, first-served basis, although at the time of writing, the official preorder page doesn’t list the specific number of customers that qualify for the preorder.
Nevertheless, early bird customers that successfully sign up for the preorder will receive a RM300 e-Voucher, plus an entitlement of savings of up to RM4,000 via email. Here are the steps:
Step 1: Login to the preorder page, right here.
Step 2: Register your interest by completing and submitting the online form between 28 October to 8 November 2023.
Step 3: You will receive a RM300 e-voucher code and entitlement of savings up to RM4,000 via email.
Step 4: On 9 November 2023, add the Odyssey Neo G9 to your cart and check out.
Step 5: At the confirmation page, enter the code in the promo code box and select “Confirm” before checkout. The RM300 discount and savings will be automatically reflected in your cart.
Step 6: Checkout and make payment accordingly.
Another crucial details that seems to be missing here is the official pricing of the Odyssey Neo G9. Given that the non-Neo Odyssey OLED G9 already retails from RM9,499, we can only surmise that the actual SRP of this monitor would cost considerably more than that, once Samsung reveals the actual pricing for it.
