The OPPO A79 is the latest mid-range smartphone from the brand, offering decent specs at a modest price. Specs and images of the phone leaked online last week and over the weekend, it was officially launched in India in Mystery Black and Glowing Green colour options, with the latter feature what it calls a Glowing Feather design.
To start with, the A79 sports a 6.72-inch 1080p LCD display with a 90Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 680 nits. For protection, it is equipped with Panda Glass on the screen as well as an IP54 rating for dust and water resistance. Under the hood, it runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 6020 chipset paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, which is expandable using a microSD card.
Photography-wise, it feature a 50MP primary camera alongside a 2MP depth sensor, as well as an 8MP front camera. The phone is powered by a 5,000mAh battery with support for 33W charging.
The A79 retails in India for INR19,999 (~RM1,142) and comes in a single variant. It is unknown when exactly it will be made available in Malaysia, but we know that it will likely come here soon as the device has already been listed on SIRIM.
