Huawei has quietly updated its MateBook 14 offering with the 2022 model that comes with a processor upgrade from the 2021 variant. The local launch of the update comes quite late in the year as we’re already in the last quarter of 2023 and, in fact, the brand already came out with a 2023 version of the laptop.
The MateBook 14 sports a 14-inch IPS touch display with a 1440p resolution as well as a tall 3:2 aspect ratio and a peak brightness of 300 nits. It comes equipped with Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.1 while the ports offered include a single USB-C port, two USB-A ports, an HDMI port, and a 3.5mm audio jack.
Under its chassis lies a 12th Gen Intel Core i5-1240P processor with Intel Iris Xe graphics, paired with 16GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 512GB of SSD storage. Powering it is a 56Wh battery with 65W charging support. There is also a fingerprint scanner that acts as a power button and a pop-up webcam hidden in a button in the middle of the keyboard.
The MateBook 14 2022 is available for pre-order on the brand’s Lazada store for RM3,999, but you can get it for RM2,999 with vouchers. Purchases of the laptop also come with a free backpack worth RM200.
