A new Tekken 7 tournament dubbed JEMPUTAN is set to take place this weekend, inviting local Playstation 4 players to face each other as well as world-class players. The championship is recognised under the Tekken World Tour Dojo tournaments, which means that players can earn ranking points, and will include up to 256 participants.
International players that have been confirmed to participate in JEMPUTAN include Pakistan’s four-time world champion Arslan “Ash” Siddique and South Korea’s Sun-woong “LowHigh” Yoon, as well as Thailand’s Nopparut “Book” Hempamorn and the UK’s Hasan “JoKa” R. The format of the tournament will be Double Elimination with Tournament Mode used as the default setting.
JEMPUTAN is co-organised with Esports Putrajaya and is supported by Rakan Muda and the Ministry of Youth and Sports. The two-day event will be held on 28 and 29 October at gateway@klia2 mall, from 9 AM to 6 PM. It has a prize pool of RM20,000 with the champion receiving RM5,000.
Organiser Reacch Productions stated that aside from this event, it is also planning two other big tournaments for next year which will be announced soon. Those who are interested in registering for JEMPUTAN and finding out more about the rules can check out the organiser’s website.
