Mercedes-Benz has officially launched the EQS SUV, the eighth vehicle in the lineup and the series’ flagship SUV. The luxury car is equipped with 4MATIC all-wheel drive and the familiar design language that we’ve seen in previous EQS products, as well as being the first non-Apple device to offer Dolby Atmos with spatial audio through Apple Music.
The car comes in a single variant in Malaysia called the EQS 580 4MATIC, which features a 0 to 100km/h time of 4.6 seconds and a range between 515 to 615km based on the WLTP cycle. With two electric motors that have an output of 400kW, it can crank out a maximum torque of 858Nm along a top speed of 210km/h.
Powered by a 108.4kWh battery, the EQS SUV supports 22kW AC charging and 200kW DC charging, with the latter being able to charge the vehicle to 80% in just 31 minutes. Each owner is provided with a 5m charging cable.
Some of the premium features include a panoramic sliding sunroof, climatised front seats with massage functions, an AR Head-Up display, a wide MBUX Hyperscreen, and two 11.6-inch touchscreen displays for the rear passengers. Moreover, the multimedia system supports both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as well as wireless charging for your phone.
The EQS SUV comes in a single trim and retails for RM699,888, which includes 10% sales tax but not insurance. To find out more about the new EV, you can check out the brand’s website.
