OPPO today has officially launched its latest foldable smartphones, the Find N3 series, for the Asia Pacific region. This time around, both of the line-up’s variants – the compact Flip and the book-styled model – are confirmed coming to Malaysia towards the end of October. This marks the first time for the larger option to be released in our country since the initial introduction of the series.
To quickly recap, on Find N3 Flip’s cover is a 3.26-inch external AMOLED display with 720 x 382px resolution, 60Hz refresh rate and Corning Gorilla Glass protection, whereas on the inside is a larger 6.8-inch LTPO AMOLED foldable screen with 2520 x 1080px resolution, up 120Hz adaptive refresh rate and ultra-thin glass (UTG) protection. Also featured is an improved version of the brand’s Flexion hinge, which is now 37% smaller than the previous version but retains the ability to allow for a near-creaseless foldable display experience.
Under the hood of the Find N3 Flip is a flagship MediaTek Dimensity 9200 chipset but unlike its release in China, the version to be available in Malaysia will only be offered in a single memory configuration featuring 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. Apart from that, the phone is running on Android 13 via ColorOS 13.2, and features WiFi 7, Bluetooth 5.3 as well as NFC support. Meanwhile, powering it is a 4,300mAh battery with 44W fast charging via USB-C.
As for cameras, housed within the phone’s circular island on its cover is a 50MP primary shooter, along with a 48MP ultra-wide and a 32MP telephoto with 2x optical zoom. As with its predecessor, it too comes with imaging features and enhancements developed by Hasselblad. On the inside, found within the punch-hole cutout on the internal display is a 32MP selfie camera.
For the book-styled Find N3 model, this particular model features a 6.3-inch outer screen and on the inside is a larger 7.8-inch screen. Both of which are revealed to offer up to 120Hz dynamic refresh rate and 2,800 nits peak brightness. Like its compact sibling, it too features OPPO’s latest Flexion hinge technology which enables for a near creaseless visual experience in its unfolded form. According to the company, the phone measures at 5.8mm thin when opened and 11.7mm in its closed form, while it is said to weigh only at 239g.
Internally, the new book-style foldable features a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, along with 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and 512 GB UFS 4.0 storage. New to the Find N3 is a whole new multitasking feature via ColorOS 13.2 called Boundless View, which lets users open and seamlessly switch between up to three different apps or windows in real-time. Battery-wise, it comes with a large 4,800mAh battery with 67W fast charging via USB-C.
In terms of imaging, found on the rear case of the phone is a Hasselblad-enhanced triple camera setup which consists of a 48MP two-layer stacked CMOS primary sensor, a 48MP ultra-wide, and a 64MP telephoto – the largest featured on a foldable smartphone to date. Meanwhile, housed within the cover display’s cutout is a 20MP selfie camera, whereas on the inner screen is a 32MP front-facing shooter.
