Earlier in the month, during the launch of the Tesla Centre in Cyberjaya, the company announced that the Model 3 will be arriving by the end of October. As promised, the company launched the Tesla Model 3 earlier today at Pavilion Damansara Heights.
Despite the launch today though, everything that we know about the Tesla Model 3 has been consistent with what was revealed all the way back in September. This ranges from the variants and their respective spec sheet, as well as their prices.
In case you missed them though, the Tesla Model 3 will be available in two main configurations. The first is what it calls the Rear-Wheel Drive model, which features a 0 to 100 km/h time of 6.1 seconds, and a maximum range of up to 513km based on the WLTP cycle. Second is what dubbed the Long Range variant, which boasts a faster century sprint time of 4.4 seconds, and a maximum range of 629km. It also comes with two electric motors, making it an all-wheel drive. Both share a top speed of 201 km/h.
Also worth mentioning is that the Long Range model of the Tesla Model 3 comes with better audio system. This is because while the Rear-Wheel Drive version of the EV has nine speakers and a single amp, the Long Range model has 17 speakers, two amps and two subwoofers.
Finally with regards to the price of the Tesla Model 3 and its availability, these too have remained unchanged since these details were first revealed. The Rear-Wheel Drive model has a price tag of RM189,000, while the Long Range version has an asking price of RM218,000. As reported earlier, those who placed their orders for the car early will get it by the end of the year.
The default colourway for the Tesla Model 3 is Pearl While Multi-Coat, with the Solid Black and Deep Blue Metallic having an additional RM5,000 premium on top. Then there’s Stealth Grey which asks for RM7,500 more, and Ultra Red costing an additional RM11,000 instead. Similarly, while the EV has its basic Autopilot installed, upgrading to Enhanced Autopilot will cost RM16,000, with Full Self-Driving costing RM32,000.
