Leakster Steve Hemmestoffer (aka OnLeaks) has released a set of images during the weekend, featuring depictions of what is claimed to be the Xiaomi 14 Pro. As before, the phone is believed to be part of Xiaomi’s upcoming flagship smartphone line-up, though it is unclear as to what other variants are expected to debut alongside it.
Based on the renders provided, the Xiaomi 14 Pro appears to have dropped its predecessor‘s curved screen, favouring a flat panel instead. According to OnLeaks, its display measures at 6.6 inches, which is actually smaller than what’s featured on the current-gen Pro model, albeit just slightly. Besides that, the phone is said to measure at 161.6 x 75.3 x 8.7 mm.
Also visible on the display is a top-centred punch-hole cutout for a selfie camera, while surrounding the whole unit is what appears to be a metal frame with flat edges. A volume rocker and lock button combo can be found on the right-hand side, whereas a USB-C port as well as SIM card slot is situated at the bottom. Speaker grilles can be seen at the top and bottom of the frame as well.
Meanwhile, situated on the Xiaomi 14 Pro’s back is a larger square island which protrudes significantly over its rear case. Housed within it are four unspecified cameras, though it is speculated that helming the setup will be a 50MP primary sensor. Seeing that the brand’s partnership with Leica is still going strong, it is plausible that the latter will still provide technologies and enhancements to the phone’s imaging capabilities.
As for other specifications, it is expected that the next-gen Pro model’s display features an AMOLED 2.5D panel with 2K resolution and 120Hz refresh rate, while under its hood is a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. Powering it is said to be a 4,860mAh battery with 120W and 50W fast charging via USB-C and wireless, respectively.
Xiaomi has yet to officially announce its new flagship smartphone series, let alone its expected launch date. However, Chinese tech site IT Home suggests that the reveal could happen later this month on 27 October. If true, this means that the line-up will be the first to debut with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, just days after the chipset’s scheduled launch that’s happening between 24 to 26 October 2023.
