Touch n’ Go has launch a three-month campaign dubbed “Walao Eh Just In Penang” to encourage the integration of cashless payments in the state. According to its CEO Praba Sangarajoo, the company will play a key role in Penang’s smart city agenda with technology such as RFID and NFC for a more seamless experience.
Chief Minister of Penang, Chow Kon Yeow, said that with TnG’s e-payment services, the state is confident that it will be able to achieve its goal of being completely cashless by 2030. “The state applauds Touch ‘n Go’s initiative and support, and we would like to take this opportunity to express gratitude for organising this campaign to assist and equip Penangites with the right tools to go fully cashless,” said the Chief Minister.
The “Walao Eh Just In Penang” roadshow will run from now until December across multiple locations in Penang Island and Seberang Perai, aiming to promote products such as TnG’s RFID and the enhanced card. There will also be mobile trucks parked at key locations that will offer special campaign deals on RFID tags.
Moreover, there will be special bundle sets as well as instant rebates at these roadshows. For those who purchase the RFID tag, the company will provide free fitment of the tag to their vehicles by the on-site crew.
