Back in August, TIME announced a new package called Gig Speed Home, its own fibre-to-the-room (FTTR) offering. At the time, the pricing was not revealed. Now, the company has updated its website to finally include the cost of the new package, albeit without mentioning when it will actually be available to subscribers.
The ISP is offering three options as add-ons, starting with a package that comes with one parent node and one child node for a coverage of 1,000 sqft or two rooms. This uses Huawei technology with Wi-Fi 6 and has an early bird promo of RM1,320, although the full price without the promo is RM2,640.
Next up is a package with two child nodes for a total coverage of 1,500 sqft or three rooms. This costs RM1,800 for early birds with the full price being RM3,600. Finally, the most expensive package comes with three child nodes with a coverage of 2,000 sqft or four rooms, costing RM2,160 or a whopping RM4,320 without the promo.
If the full payment is too hard for you to swallow, you could opt for a 24-month instalment plan instead, although this option will only be available for Malaysian customers who have been subscribed to TIME for at least six months. As for the early bird promo, the product page did not state when it will end.
Interestingly, the Gig Speed Home package is only offered to subscribers of the company’s 1Gbps plan, meaning that existing customers with slower plans, and possibly even those on the 2Gbps plan, will have to change to the 1Gbps plan to be eligible for this add-on. This isn’t the case with CelcomDigi’s FTTR solution, which is available for home fibre subscribers on the 300Mbps tier or higher and seems to offer more coverage.
